Kevin graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Irish History. At the University of Chicago, Kevin was awarded the Karafoil award for Best Senior Thesis in history (Development of Dispute Settlement in Ancient Ireland). After graduation, he spent several years as a volunteer teacher in the Lower East Side of New York City, working with at risk children. While at Boston College Law School, Kevin spent a semester studying European Union Law at Kings College Law School in London, England. In 1995, Kevin was awarded Attorney of the Year by the Political Asylum and Immigration Representation project for his work representing Tibetan and Haitian refugees. In 1997, Kevin left CB for a position in Virginia. After an 11 year sabbatical in Southern Virginia, Kevin has happily returned to CB. During his years practicing in VA, Kevin was recognized on several occasions as one of the top immigration litigation attorneys in Virginia by Virginia Business Magazine. He has tried federal and state cases involving personal injury, premises liability, eminent domain, commercial disputes, employment law, immigration and railroad law. Kevin is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Virginia. He has taken a leadership role in public and private boards involving the environment, historical preservation and community rowing. He also taught International Law at Old Dominion University for 6 years.
